Legendary Minnesota musician Prince wowed the crowd on NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Friday night as he introduced to the country his new all-female band 3rd Eye Girl, the Star Tribune reports.
Prince first unveiled 3rd Eye Girl locally during the last night of his three-night “open rehearsal” performances at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis in January.

After being introduced by Fallon as “one of the most legendary and influential musicians of all-time,” Prince played “Screwdriver,” which was released a few weeks ago on the 3rd Eye Girl website – and ended the two-song set with “Bambi,” a tune he reimagined from his 1979 self-titled album.
Prince decide to end the song with a bang, of sorts, when he sent the guitar was playing sailing into the air before it smashed to the ground. As it turned out, the instrument  belonged to Kirk Douglas, a guitarist in Fallon’s house band.

Prince’s appears on Fallon’s show was his second national TV appearance this year. The first came when he stole the show at the Grammys last month as he handed out the Record of the Year honor to  Gotye (aka Wouter De Backer) and his collaborator, Kimbra. The Minneapolis-born musician is set to make yet another TV performance in May when accepts his Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards on ABC. Prince is also expected to perform at the event. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is scheduled to kick off a West Coast tour in mid-April.

Janet Jackson Labelled Illuminati Member After Wearing Symbol To Conrad Murray Trial

Janet Jackson has been labelled as a member of the Illuminati after wearing an ‘Eye’ pendant – a symbol of the sect – around her neck on the way to court for the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray.

The Jackson family were photographed leaving court on Day 2 of the trial where the 45-year-old was seen with the piece of Jewellery resting on her chest.
The illuminati are a supposed powerful secretive sect, and many public figures have been accused of pushing the group’s agenda via pop memorabilia such as music videos over the years.
Some stars have been reported to include hidden messages within the depths of their musical content in an attempt to control the masses.
There has been no comment from the Jackson family regarding any involvement with the sect.

James Brown Estate: South Carolina Supreme Court Nixes Settlement

By MEG KINNARD 02/27/13 02:38 PM ET EST AP
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a settlement divvying up the multimillion-dollar estate of James Brown, saying a former attorney general didn't follow the late soul singer's wishes in putting together the deal.

Attorney General Henry McMaster brokered a settlement in 2009 that split Brown's estate, giving nearly half to a charitable trust, a quarter to his widow, Tomi Rae Hynie, and leaving the rest to be split among his adult children.

But the justices ruled that the deal ignored Brown's wishes for most of his money to go to charity. The court also ruled the Godfather of Soul was of sound mind when he made his will before dying of heart failure on Christmas Day 2006 at age 73.

The court sent the estate back to a lower court to be reconsidered. The justices did agree with the lower court's decision to remove Brown's original trustees. Members of Brown's family said they wanted them gone because the trustees mismanaged the estate until it was almost broke.
The court said it had no idea what the estate was worth, giving an estimate of $5 million to more than $100 million.

The justices harshly criticized McMaster, who stepped in to broker the settlement after the estate floundered in court for years. Under McMaster's deal, a professional manager took control of Brown's assets from the estate's trustees, wiping out crushing debt – more than $20 million Brown had borrowed for a European comeback tour – and opening the way for needy students to receive college scholarships. The plan allowed a financial manager to cut lucrative deals that put Brown's music on national and international commercials for products such as Chanel perfume and Gatorade.

Chief Justice Jean Toal suggested Wednesday that, if the settlement was allowed to stand, it could discourage people from leaving most of their estate to charity for fear their wishes could easily be overturned.
The dispute came to the court after the ousted trustees sued. "The compromise orchestrated by the AG in this case destroys the estate plan Brown had established in favor of an arrangement overseen virtually exclusively by the AG," giving large sums of money to relatives even though they were given little or no control in the singer's original will, Associate Justice John Kittredge wrote.

The fight over Brown's estate even spilled over into what to do with his body. Family members fought over the remains for more than two months, leaving Brown's body, still inside a gold casket, sitting in cold storage in a funeral home. Brown was eventually buried in Beech Island, S.C., at the home of one of his daughters. The family wanted to turn the home into a shrine for Brown similar to Elvis Presley's Graceland, but that idea has not gotten off the ground.

An attorney for Adele Pope – one of the trustees who appealed – commended the court for its ruling, which he said would more accurately fulfill Brown's wishes."James Brown was certainly devoted to the cause of education," James Richardson said. "Today's decision means that the bulk of his fortune will go to the cause of educating needy children." McMaster, who left office in 2010, said that he respected the court's decision but stood by the settlement he brokered.

"I believe we took the correct legal steps to make the very best of a bad situation," McMaster said. "We worked hard to see that Mr. Brown's wishes were effectuated to the furthest extent they could be."
Current Attorney General Alan Wilson said he respected the court's decision but felt McMaster had acted legally.

Sly Stone Completes 90 Day Rehab!

Sly Stone of the 70s funk band Sly & The Family Stone has successfully completed his court ordered 90-day treatment program, stemming from a drug arrest, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Sly was homeless and living in his van and has battled an addiction to crack cocaine for years. The musician was arrested and charged with cocaine possession last year.

“Sly is sober for the first prolonged period of time in probably 30 years,” a source close to Stone tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Sly will remain in rehab for another week, until arrangements can be made for him to transition to a sober living facility, or some other type of follow-up treatment. Sly wants to get back out on the road and tour again, and his doctor fully supports that.
“Sly would have a sober living companion with him, and he wants to go to Narcotics Anonymous meetings while on tour. This is truly a remarkable man that is 70 years old. Sly is truly going to be a role model for others battling addiction, proving it’s never too late to get help.”

Meanwhile, the formerly homeless musician is: “eternally grateful for the doctor, and is crediting him with saving his life, and helping to get his life back. Sly had been essentially living on the streets, and he has been estranged from his family for years,” the insider says.

“The van Sly had been living in and using drugs in will absolutely not be a part of his life post-rehab. It’s a trigger, and it has bad memories for him. It will be sold and sent to a junk yard where it belongs. Stone will get a new R.V. at the appropriate time,” the source asserts.

After pleading guilty to not paying federal taxes on more than $1.5 million over three years, Lauryn Hill has reportedly filed court documents in response to her charges.
According to TMZ, the documents claim that Hill stopped paying taxes "when she withdrew from society at large due to what she perceived as manipulation and very real threats to herself and her family."
While the documents didn’t reveal exactly what the threats were, the eight-time Grammy award winner alluded to the incident in a post on her Tumblr page last year , explaining that she chose to put the safety of her family first.
Over-commercialization and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual. I did not deliberately abandon my fans, nor did I deliberately abandon any responsibilities, but I did however put my safety, health and freedom and the freedom, safety and health of my family first over all other material concerns! I also embraced my right to resist a system intentionally opposing my right to whole and integral survival.
Hill is asking for probation prior to her April 22 sentencing where she faces a maximum of one year in prison and $100,000 in fines for each count.
